Pretty Snow Day

We've had a lot of snow this winter, but this is by far our prettiest snow day yet! As soon as Isaac went down for his morning nap, the girls (and Jack) ventured out for a little sledding down our mini-hill.

Dog on Probation

I've been working extremely hard for the past month getting the house ready to put on the market. And this beast above un-did a lot of my outside work. So, he's no longer allowed to roam outside in the yard un-attended. The result- he now lays in front of the front door, either giving me sad looks or looking longingly at all the birdies feeding at our birdfeeder.

Big Bad Wolf Expressions

Saedi is fascinated with wolves and tonight she asked me to sing the "Big Bad Wolf" song to her. I found the old cartoon online and let them watch the short clip after dinner. The girls faces cracked me up. Ellie was very concerned for Grandma's safety and Saedi had that "Oh no you didn't Mr Wolf" look on her face!

5 Months

-Isaac loves the "g" sound & my homemade "Mr. Man" song
-Rolls a lot from back to tummy but then gets stuck. He fusses & yells but if we don't get him he gives up, puts his head down & sucks his "peace-sign" fingers.
-Still spitting up a lot, but a happy chunker he is!
-Prefers momma most, & has started smiling and cooing at Daddy via webcam. Ellie & Jack are also becoming his good buddies! (Saedi still prefers Jack. She gets very uncomfortable when Isaac cries)
-Loves to pull hair. He even pulls at his hair while nursing (just like Ellie did)
-Sleeps through the night 75% of time
-Starting to take an interest when other people eat and talk
-Enjoys holding/shaking rattles and teething toys
-Loves to splash and kick in the bathtub

60 min core

I'm loving the core classes at the Y. I've always enjoyed working my abs and despised working legs. Today the instructor had us do 30 min of kickboxing and 30 min of isolated core using gliders and body weight. Lots of obliques. I'm pooped. Was supposed to run an easy 3 miles, but I skipped it. Really looking forward to a rest day tomorrow!

Couponing

Coupon Round-Up Jan 1-9th
-Walgreens: Spent $36.81 Saved $70.74
-Rite Aid: Spent $11.22 Saved $26.57
-Wal-Mart Spent $98.68 (eeek!) Saved $16.02 + whatever the cashier price-overrided for my price comparisons)
Sams Club Spent $43.56 Saved $0
Office Depot: Spent $7.44 Saved $6.79
Commissary: Spent $14.36 Saved $0
Total Spent: $212.77 Saved $120.12

Did great at Walgreens, Rite-Aid, and Office Depot as these are the stores I'm most comfortable couponing. I was surprised at how much I spent at Wal-Mart since I coupon price matched AND did store-ad-comparisons. Oh well...gives me something to work on! Sam's Club is always expensive since they don't accept coupons, but I love their produce and meat! The commissary killed me b/c it was a last-minute trip to pick up some food to make meals for a couple of families. My total spent is a lot for just one week (or barely over a week), but that big grocery will last me 1 1/2 -2 weeks plus some stock-up items. Now that I see what I'm really spending in one week (as opposed to just using my monthly allowance) it helps me. I would LOVE to get my monthly groceries to under $300...sounds impossible, but a good challenge for sure!

Body Pump & 2 new recipes

Joined Nat for an hour of body pump at the YMCA. I'm gonna be so sore tomorrow! It was a great class...including dreadful lunges. Also tried 2 new recipes for lunch today. I liked them both, but the girls weren't crazy about the coconut flour tortillas; however, they loved the baked apples.
*Oops, this was intended for my crossfit blog. Oh well, you can check that one out too!

The Gator

A huge thanks to Mimi and Papa for putting together the ferocious gator while they were in town! Grandma & Grandpa got the kids this John Deere Gator for Christmas and the girls are ga-ga for it! Here's a play-by-play beginning with finding the great gift. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa!

A Normal Chaos

I was trying to tape Isaac rolling over so Daddy could see, and in addition to that, here's a less-than-one-minute clip of typical chaos at our house.
